Lincoln Park Row House

Chicago, IL

This Lincoln Park row house started off as a dark two-flat, but had great bones and limitless potential. We began by gutting the entire building to the existing brick exterior walls. On the first floor, a series of arched openings were introduced to add architectural interest to the view from the living room in the front to the kitchen in the rear. The open concept kitchen and family room, as well as the new deck off the back, provide plenty of entertaining space. A fully reconfigured second floor plan incorporates 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, including a large master suite. In order to raise the basement ceilings from 7' to 9', we dug down and underpinned the existing foundation walls. The lower level now has ample living space, including a second family room, bedroom, bathroom and laundry / mud room. This beautiful, light-filled home is now perfect for their growing family.
